Coconut pecan frosting or German Chocolate Frosting:

1 cup evaporated milk

1 cup sugar

3 egg yolks 1/4 pound butter
1 tbsp vanilla 1 1/3 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped pecans  

    Combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla in saucepan.  Cook over medium heat, stirring consistently until mixture thickens (about 12 minutes.)  Remove from heat, add coconut and pecans. Beat until cool and spread on German Chocolate Cake.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Peanut Butter Pie

1 8 oz. Cream Cheese 1 4oz. cool whip
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter 1 chocolate flavored graham crust
1 Cup sifted powered sugar 2 Tablespoon coarsely chopped peanuts (optional)
2 Tablespoon  milk Chocolate syrup

        Combine cream cheese, peanut butter, add sugar and milk.  Fold in whipped topping, spoon into pie shell.  Sprinkle with peanuts. Chill in freezer for 15 minutes. Top with syrup.

 

 

 

 

Mile High Biscuits

3 Cups flour 2 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
3/4 tsp. cream of tarter 3/4 Cup shorting
1/2 tsp. salt 1 Cup milk
4 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 egg

    Sift dry ingredients together, cut in shorting until it resembles coarse crumbs. Beat egg lightly in small bowl, add milk and mix.   Then add to dry ingredients.  Mix with fork until dough holds together.  Turn out unto well floured board, knead lightly.  Roll out 1 inch thick, cut with floured cutter, set on greased baking sheet.  Bake at 425-450, for 12 to 15 minutes.

 

 

 

 

White Bread

 

2 Cups warm water 1 Tablespoon salt
1 can (51/3oz.) evaporated milk 2 pkg. yeast
1/3 cup oil 7 - 8 cups flour
1/4 cup honey or sugar  

    In a large bowl put warm water, add yeast and stir together, add milk, oil, sugar, and salt stir, put about 5 cups of flour and mix well add more flour to make a soft dough not to stiff. Knead the dough put in floured bowl and cover the bowl with a warm towel, let it rise about 1 hour in warm place until doubled. Knead again and put in 3 well greased  pans. Bake 375 20-30 minutes.

 

 

 

 

               

Pizza Crust

1 1/3 c warm water 1/2 tsp salt
4  c flour 1 TBS sugar
1 pk dry yeast 1/3 tsp garlic salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water add sugar, add salt, flour and garlic salt, mix well and leave in bowl covered with a warm dish towel until doubled. Now make your pizzas.

 

 

 

 

Oatmeal Cake with Broiled Frosting

1 1/2 cup boiling water 1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup butter 1 cup  brown sugar
1 cup white sugar 2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt  

Preheat oven 350,  grease 9 by 13 pan.

In a small bowl, pour boiling water over oats, mix well and cool. In a large bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, white sugar, eggs. flour, baking soda, spices and salt. Add cooled oatmeal, and stir to combine. Pour batter in pan, and bake 35 minutes.

Frosting

1/4 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup coconut 6 TBS. butter melted
1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup cream

While cake is baking, combine white sugar, brown sugar, coconut, melted butter, vanilla and cream in a mixing bowl.  Remove cake from oven, and turn on broiler. Drop mixture by small spoonfuls on top of cake. Spread evenly and carefully.  Broil for 2 to 5 minutes, until topping is bubbling and lightly browned.

1 cup of good thoughts 2 cups sacrifice
1 cup of kindness 2 cups well-beaten faults
1 cup of consideration for others 3 cups of forgiveness

Mix thoroughly. Add tears of joy, sorrow, and sympathy. Flavor with love and kindly service.  Fold in 4 cups of prayer and faith.  Blend well.  Fold into daily life.  Bake well with warmth of human kindness and serve with a smile any time.  It will satisfy the hunger of starved souls.

 

 

 

  

No Bake Cookies

2 cups sugar 3 cups quick oats
1/2  cup milk 1/2 cup peanut butter
3 Tbsp. cocoa 1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 lb. margarine Few grains salt

In a saucepan mix together the sugar, milk, cocoa, butter and salt. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute.  Remove from heat and quickly stir in the oats, peanut butter and vanilla.  1/2 cup chopped nuts may be added if desired; mix well. Drop by spoonful on wax paper and let stand until set.

 

 

Chocolate Crinkles

1/2 cup vegetable oil 4 sq unsweetened baking chocolate melted
2 cups granulated sugar 2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs 2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder 1/.2 tsp salt
1/2 cup powdered sugar  

Mix oil, chocolate, granulated sugar and vanilla in large bowl, mix in eggs one at a time, stir in flour, baking power and salt. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours.

Heat oven to 350, grease cookie sheet.

Drop dough by teaspoonfuls into powdered sugar; roll around to coat, shape into balls, place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet.  Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until almost no imprint remains when touched lightly in center. Remove and cool on wire rack.
